Mee    Meeting Minutes from April 14, 2010

Mee    Meeting called to order by our President Mike Betke at 7:21. Nine club me     members were in attendance.

 Me    Meeting minutes from March 10th were read and motion to approve  mi      the minutes was made by Mark Owens and seconded by Jerry          Sept   Betke.

          Treasurer's Report: Starting balance and ending balance were given en.      Expense for the month was $30 for 1/2 (shared with Transom Twister) club     for lunch expense with Burton township officials.  Income was from due     dues from Joe and Mike Flynn. Motion to approve report made by Mike Betk    Betke and second was Bert Dygert.

           Old   Business:

          Driver's Stand - Will continue to store at park Electric and the club is to g         get contact information for Park Electric. Roger Pickett to obtain a seco    second set of bolt for the driver's stand that will be stored in the club tr        trailer.

          Messina Practice Site- Jerry Betke and Bob Kirt met with Steve Messina and     and the lease was signed. Steve agreed to help remove the hill and grad    grade it down. Jerry has the oars and life jackets for the row boat at his      his house to use when using the practice site. The locks on the gates are      OK.

          Kelly Lake Work Day` was to be held Saturday April 17th at 10am at Kell     Kelly Park in Burton Michigan. Please bring shovels, rakes, battery pow     powered drill and drill bits, power saws and wheel barrows. We need to       to build retaining walls for the pit area and driver's stand.

          Special Rate at the Super 8 Hotel (Walli's) for the race of $45 and a 15%    15% discount from hotel restaurant for Saturday Night before the race.

          Fuel for 2010

          I will be coordinating a Fuel Order with Wild Cat Fuel for delivery in April    April. If you need fuel let me know so I can put your name down on a list      list. I won't be collecting money until our April Meeting. Prices will be the      the same as last year. Note there will be a slight increase in fuel cost in        in June when wild Cat has to replace its Nitro Supply. Prices are       con      confirmed as of 2/25/10 from Wild Cat.

           Fuel Cost:  50% $110 per case or $27.50 a gallon; 55% $118 per case o         or $29.50 a gallon' 65% $112 per case or $30.50 a gallon

           Big Boats-the unlimited boat race in Detroit "The Gold Cup" race date has      has been changed to June 25th thru 27th has been moved to the origi     original date July 9th, 10th and 11th. Also ticket prices and parking pric      prices have been reduced. They have no large corporate sponsor, but the      the Yacht Club, Sinbad's and the Roostertail are all putting up money.

           Club Membership-Member's please remember that our dues are to be paid     paid by our April meeting and that proof of your IMPBA membership is re        required to get your Club Card.

           Gold Cup Trophy-Steve Peterson won it at Spencer Park in 2009. Mike H         Hallam has it from 2008. Need to get the trophy back for the 2010 race

           New Business

           Renting Club Equipment- A motion was made that we make a club polic     policy of renting the club's equipment and would require a $100       dep      deposit per each item rented (ie clock, driver's stand etc). Also, the club      club renting the equipment is responsible for the repair cost should it b          become damaged or broken.  When the equipment is returned in good wo        working order a $50 deposit will be returned to the renting club. Also the       renting club is responsible for the transportation of the driver's stand and      and will have to make arrangements for pick-up and return and this is no        not the responsibility of the OWMBC. Motion was made by Mike Betke and      and seconded by Bert Dygert. A vote was taken and approved by the me       membership.

           State Fair Grounds-Bob Kirt brought in an article about the old State Fair      Fair grounds on Woodward and Eight mile being planned to become a Met      Metro Park. They are in the planning stages and Bob thought that the cl         club should put a proposal together to include a boat pond on the site fo         for consideration. Bob and Jerry to work on contacting the planning com      committee and make a proposal if they are open to the idea of a mo       model boat pond within the newly planned park.

           Club Pictures are being taken tonight and will be posted on our web      website.
