Meeting Minutes from January 11, 2012

Meeting called to order by our (new president) Bert Dygert around 7:30 p.m.

10 members were present and 1 guest Dave Berry.

A re-cap of the meeting minutes from November were read and a motion to approve was made by Joe Wiebelhaus and Mike Betke.

Treasurers Report: Expenses-$100.00 for the Messina Gift Card, $100.00 for the Club Christmas Party and $16.96 for award engraving.

 Old Business:

Jerry Betke spoke with our bank representative regarding a possible new tax id number as from the I.R.S. stand point we are to file a tax return every year. A little more information on this subject is to be obtained.

Jerry Betke delivered the yearly gift certificate to Steve Messina; though they were not able to have their usual luncheon Steve was very thankful for the gift from the club.

We are to keep are eyes open for sale prices on new six foot starting table.  If anyone should see a sale pleases contact on of the board members for purchase.

New Business:

Race Date(s) for the Mini Gold Cup at Kelly Lake in Burton, MI is May 20^th and for the District II Challenge at Spencer Park in Rochester Hills September 23^rd Nitro classes will be B, D, E-F open rigger, Sport 40, 1/8^th Scale, Gas classes will be Gas Thunder Boat, Gas Sport Hydro, Gas Cat and Gas Mono for both races.

We will also be running a RTR / Novice class.

We are looking for a new club meeting site, one preferably with food and drink at a reasonable price.  Mark has opened his house for the February meeting if we have not found a good place to meet.  So keep your eyes open.

Dan Brandon, will be looking into a place called Nick’s as they have a few different meeting / banquette areas.

A brief discussion about new club shirts, will try to follow up with Roger Pickett for info on cost, suppliers and art work.

Joe Wiebelhaus is looking for a list of all equipment withers in the club trailer or at your home please get that info to him as soon as possible.

Motions

A motion to a new format of gas gift cards and racing certificates instead of plaques / trophies to be presented at the Mini Gold Cup. We will be giving gas cards away to the top three finishers in the amount of $20-$10-$10 respectively. And will be giving certificates to those whom may want one and to our young or novice class racers.

The motion was approved by vote, seconded by Chris Capaldi and Dan Brandon.

A motion to give a donation to the City of Burton, MI for use of there park in the amount of $100.00. $50.00 of that amount will be for the 2011 season and the remainder for this year. Our goal is to do this in person at one of there city council meetings which are held the 1^st and 3^rd Mondays of the month. Mark Owens will try to coordinate a date.

The motion was approved by vote, seconded by Joe Wiebelhaus and Chris Capaldi.
